Legendary British rock band Queen performed with singer Adam Lambert on three consecutive nights from 21 September at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan arena.

The British Ambassador to Japan Tim Hitchens CMG LVO presents Shimonoseki City Mayor Tomoaki Nakao with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The painting commemorates the Queen’s 90th birthday and the 110th anniversary of the completion of the British Consulate in the city.

The 1066 food stall, run by Jane Best OBE, was again present at the Fuji Rock Festival, serving up British favourites. Best, who is now chief executive of Refugees International Japan, has been running the stall ever since the festival’s founding.

BST pupils from Year 11 visited a school in the remote village of Dor in Cambodia, in June. It is funded by BST through United World Schools—a charity improving educational opportunities for the world’s poor and marginalised children—to assist with teaching and after-school activities.
