Shinagawa International School

Shinagawa International School (SIS) is an IB PYP-accredited school offering preschool classes (ages 3 and 4), a kindergarten, a primary school (G1–6) nearby Shinagawa Seaside Station. And Oimachi Middle School Campus will offer grades 6–10 (ages 12–16).

Shinagawa International School (SIS) now is an IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) candidate school that has started to implement the MYP curriculum framework. MYP is a continuum of the IB Primary Years Programme and enables students to further develop the skills, knowledge, and attributes they start to acquire in primary school. SIS Middle School Campus is located nearby Oimachi Station which offers the classes of Grades 6 to 8 by 2021–2022 Academic Year. Each year, SIS will add an additional grade level to allow all children to continue their education at our new campus.

Nourishing and celebrating diversity
SIS is considered to be a community of learners. The school is fortunate to have teachers and students from over 30 different nationalities which form a great mixture of different experiences and cultures and results in the formation of a multicultural and diverse learning community. SIS celebrates its diversity not only in regular class activities but also by hosting an International Children’s Festival every year.

Social development is a high priority at SIS, and its mixed age group After-School Program activities promote interaction among children of different ages.
