Children’s Cancer Charity Event Raises Millions

More than 350 people attended the Tyler Foundation’s White Hot Extravaganza Night on 28 September which raised ¥25mn from auctions and donations to support its programmes in Japan that improve the quality of life for children with cancer and their families.
The Tokyo-based NPO’s president, Kim Forsythe, said: “Last year, we were active in four hospitals. This year, the number has grown to 13, and we expect it to further increase to 20 by year end. A new therapy dog will be going to Kanagawa Children’s Hospital in 2012.

“Shine On! House, our complete support facility for childhood cancer patients andtheir families, is now open on weekends for events and family use. As of 1 October, over 4,500 children had participated in the Shine On! Smile Ambassador workshops in Tohoku”.

British Airways, United Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Pieroth Japan, Infinity Diamonds, Brown Forman, Ferrari, Grand Hyatt, Custom Media and many more generous sponsors helped make this event a huge success.
