Tokyo Gas and the BG Group signed a deal to produce liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Australia, the Nikkei reported on 7 March. Tokyo Gas will invest some ¥20–25bn in Japan’s first attempt to procure LNG from natural gas. The Queensland Curtis LNG Project, valued at about $15bn, will produce 8.5 million tons of LNG each year.
