Lotus Cars announced a partnership with Toyota Motor Corporation, the Auto Sport website reported on 17 September.
During a press conference held at the British Embassy Tokyo, Lotus said it would work with Toyota on the Lotus Elise. At the event, Lotus CEO Dany Bahar presented Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda with a Lotus Elise R.
