Cotswolds bakery Huffkins has been selected to represent the nation at the 40th British Fair in Osaka, the This is Gloucestershire website reported in September.
The family-owned, Stow on the Wold firm, voted purveyors of the “Best Afternoon Tea in Britain” by readers of My Weekly magazine in 2008, created a pop-up tearoom in Hankyu Corporation’s department store. Open from 6 to 12 October, it is expected to serve more than 1,000 classic cream teas a day, with Huffkins bakery staff and local Cotswolds ingredients ensuring authenticity.
This annual British fair that attracts up to one million visitors this year has a Cotswold theme. Previous luminaries representing the “Best of British” have included Claridges, Harrods, Cath Kidston and Burberry.
