Loughborough-based Intelligent Energy Ltd. and Suzuki Motor Corporation will make a fuel-cell system for vehicles, the Nikkei reported on 7 February.
The firms will each have a 50% stake in the joint venture, Smile FC System Corporation, which will be headquartered in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. Suzuki expects to start selling motorcycles with the fuel-cell system in 2015 and later hopes to equip cars with the system.
