Rare Samurai Armour to Be Sold

A full suit of female samurai armour will be auctioned in the UK, The Japan Daily Press reported on 22 October.

The suit was owned by one of the few female samurai, and dates back to the 1800s.

Made for someone under five feet tall and painted with a bright red mask, a fake moustache and rows of snarling teeth to conceal the woman wearer, the armour is expected to bring at least £40,000 at the Bonhams auction.
