Sarah Outen has become the first person to complete a solo row from Japan to Alaska, NBC News reported on 25 September.
The British adventurer had not seen another human being in 150 days when she landed on the Aleutian island of Adak on 23 September, following an arduous 6,035km journey.
An expert at the Ocean Rowing Society said Outen was the first woman to have completed a mid-Pacific row from West to East, known as a dangerous crossing.
