Inventors of the first fuel-cell motorcycle said that clean fuel-cell engine powered vehicles will soon be widely available to a large global market, the London Press Service reported on 25 January.
Intelligent Energy (IE) has partnered with the Suzuki Motor Corporation to provide the fuel cells for zero-emission motorcycles under development in Japan and at Loughborough, central England.
The bike has a unique and proprietary air-cooled, clean fuel-cell power system, and is fuelled by a cylinder of hydrogen that can be filled in a few minutes and allows the bike to travel 350km. The partners are also poised to deliver zero-emission hybrid black cabs in London by 2012.
