Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (TMUK) has started making the Auris Hybrid, the first hybrid manufactured in Europe, the Daily International Automotive Affairs website reported in July.
Some 30,000 units of the car, which is already sold in 32 countries, will be produced each year. Established in 1992, TMUK is located in Burnaston, Derbyshire. Minister of Business, Innovation and Skills Vince Cable visited the factory on the day of the announcement in late June.
