Kyowa Hakko Kirin Co. said it will buy Scottish pharmaceutical product maker ProStrakan Group plc for £292 million, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported on 22 February. The deal helps secure marketing channels in Europe and the US, and was unanimously endorsed by ProStrakan’s board. Based in Galashiels, ProStrakan has developed and marketed a cancer-related pain reliever, among other medications.
