About 200 new skilled jobs will be created in northeast England with Mitsubishi’s £100 million investment in a new wind-turbine centre to research building the world’s biggest offshore turbine blades, The Independent reported in February.
Mitsubishi Power Systems Europe signed a memorandum of understanding with the UK government, which is granting up to £30 million and which said the project could result in up to 1,500 new jobs.
The turbines will be offered for sale in the UK, Germany, the US and China.
