A fan of The Beatles has proposed that land formerly owned by the family of Yoko Ono host a replica of John Lennon’s family home, The Telegraph reported on 16 January.
Tatsuro Hara, who believes Lennon is an “apostle of peace”, said he would like the building to be a “memorial hall” identical to the property located in Liverpool, and now owned by The National Trust.
Fukushima Prefecture’s Yanagawa City, which set aside ¥30mn to buy the land, said among its considerations are using the land for a museum or a park.
