No need to leave this home-from-home for a comfortable, all-in-one lifestyle
As Tokyo vies with New York, London and Asian capitals to be the global business center, MORI LIVING is innovating to help exceed the expectations of international and local residents alike by offering the convenience and comfort of all-in-one central locations.
And as the economy picks up, MORI LIVING’s residences in Tokyo are rolling out the welcome mat for longer-stay residents.
One such place is Atago Green Hills Forest Tower. Foreigners almost everywhere, I have learnt, want convenience more than anything else — for shopping, health, recreation and business, as well as culture and nature.
But how easy is that to find in Tokyo?
Innovative urban developer Mori Building’s residential brand MORI LIVING — motto “Bringing new ideas to life in Tokyo”— operates residential properties in the heart of the city at 17 convenient locations including four serviced apartment properties at Atago Green Hills Forest Tower, Roppongi Hills Residence D, ARK Towers and the Prudential Tower Residences.
From my experience staying at Atago Green Hills Forest Tower, I soon discovered it was conveniently located just four to 10 minutes’ walk from Onarimon, Kamiyacho and Toranomon subway stations on the Mita, Hibiya and Ginza lines — respectively, which quickly connect to other major commercial hubs such as Marunouchi, Otemachi and Yurakucho.
Atago Green Hills Forest Tower is also defined by a convenient balance of an all-in-one lifestyle of restaurants, spa, health clinic, shops, and an on-site, 24-hour, high-class supermarket.
For a modern luxury property, you can’t get much closer to culture: Right next door is the 500-year-old Seishoji temple, where meditation can be practised.
Making friends is easy too, with several members-only events that encourage residents to meet each other and the staff.
“Some residents who leave Japan later meet up with our staff members in their own countries to continue the friendship,” said Residence Manager Hiroyuki Yagisawa.
Most residents there — both Japanese and foreigners — are professionals, academics and creative types, mostly singles or DINKs, so convenience is priority number one.
No need to leave the property and battle the crowds for the colourful fireworks over Tokyo Bay, which are easily seen from the Sky Deck - a special hanabi-viewing party is held for residents every August, weather permitting.
In fact, all one- and two-bedroom fully furnished serviced apartments (one-, two- and three-bedroom for unfurnished apartments) offer spectacular views of the changing seasons without leaving home.
Designed by world-renowned architect Cesar Pelli to resemble a lotus blossom — symbolising “peace and quiet to help you savor the changing moods of the seasons without the distraction of the busy city”—at this residence you may hear from the surrounding greenery of Mt. Atago the occasional sounds of a hakubishin (civet).
For busy executives or special treats, a breakfast buffet is served daily in the 42nd floor no-smoking Lounge that also provides lunch, dinner and room service. The Lounge also offers daily local and global newspapers, magazines and books.
One resident told me: “They clearly have a lot of experience hosting international people because they seem to sense what we need and it is so convenient for everything”.
And the 41st-floor, 24-hour health-consultation room is staffed by a senior doctor and bilingual nurses who administer medical consulting and treatment for minor injuries or illnesses, while just opposite is the famous Jikei Medical University Hospital, which offers the highest-class medical service should more serious treatment or advice be necessary.
Keeping fit can’t be more convenient, too, with the GREEN HILLS SPA offering adult lessons, tailored personal training and wellness instruction at the gym and swimming pool. Those staying at serviced apartments here also enjoy full spa membership at MORI LIVING’s three other residential properties in Roppongi, Akasaka, and Moto-azabu at no extra charge.
Innovation and convenience being the key words, the “MORI LIVING Smiles” benefits programme was recently introduced for residents aged over 12 living at any of the 17 MORI LIVING residences in Tokyo on three-year fixed-term leases, who can receive generous discounts and special offers from participating establishments in such places as Roppongi Hills, Omotesando Hills and Venus Fort that offer a wide array of services and products.
MORI LIVING’s philosophy is clearly to provide a convenient and comfortable stay along with each property’s own character while sharing the same 24/7 elements of security, privacy, location and hospitality.
